During FM radio operation, this button is used to
select mono or stereo reception of the broadcast
signal. Under normal reception conditions, the unit
should be left in the stereo mode as indicated by the
“ST”onthedisplaypanelwhentunedtoanFMstereo

The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel displays the
frequency, time, and activated functions.

CD CHANGER MODE SELECTOR (CD)
NOTE: It is a characteristic of LCD panels that, if
subjectedtocoldtemperaturesforanextended
periodoftime,theymaytakelongertoilluminate
than under normal conditions. In addition,
thevisibilityofthenumbersontheLCDmay
slightlydecrease. TheLCDread-outwillreturn
to normal when the temperature increases to
a normal range.
During radio, or tape play, press this button to select
operation of the optional CD changer as shown by
“CD-C” and “CdC” on the display panel. Refer to the
CDChangerControlssectiononpage10forspecific
operating instructions.
If the button is pressed when there is no CD changer
connected to the unit, the “CD-C” and “CdC”
indications will briefly appear on the display panel.
The unit will then return to radio operation. To return
to the tape operation (if a tape is loaded in the unit),

CASSETTE DOOR
Hold the cassette with the exposed tape edge to the
right and insert it fully into the cassette door until the
cassette is engaged and begins playing (“PLY” will
appear on the display panel). When the cassette
reachestheendonthesideofthetapebeingplayed,
theunitwillautomaticallychangedirectionofplayas
tchpe tape.
TIME/FREQUENCY SELECTOR (T/F)
Thisunitcanbesetsothateithertheclocktimeorradio

appear on the display panel. Pressing the Time/
FrequencySelectorbuttonwhentheradiofrequency,
tape or CD changer indication is shown will change
thedisplaytoshowthetime. Thetimewillthenbethe
priority setting and the display will automatically
returntotimedisplay5secondsafteranyotherradio,
tape, CD changer, or audio function display.
If the unit is set to time display priority, pressing the
Time/Frequency Selector button will change the
displaytoshowtheradiofrequency/tape/CDchanger
indication and this will then become the priority
setting to which the display automatically returns 5
seconds after any other function is activated.
3. If there is a malfunction of any of the switches on
the unit, pressing the Re-Set button may clear
csthe system and return to normal operation.
FRONT PANEL RELEASE BUTTON
This button is used to release the mechanism that
holds the front panel to the chassis. To detach the
frontpanel,pressthebuttonsothattheleftsideofthe
panel is released. Grasp the released side and pull
it off of the chassis. To re-attach the panel, position
therightsideofthepanelinplacefirstandthenpress
the left side of the panel until the mechanism locks
it into place.
NOTES ON USE OF FRONT PANEL

THEFT-DETERRENT L.E.D.
1. Make sure the front panel is right-side-up when
attaching it to the chassis as it cannot be attached
when up-side down.
Located on the chassis behind the front panel, a
light-emittingdiode(L.E.D.)willflashwhenthepanel
is removed. The flashing light serves as a visual
warning to the would-be thief that the unit has been
disabled by removal of the front panel.
2. Do not press very hard on the front panel when
attaching it to the chassis. No more than light to
moderate pressure should be needed.

RE-SET BUTTON
ARe-Setbuttonislocatedonthefrontofthechassis
(front panel must be removed to access the button).
The re-set circuitry is provided to protect the
microprocessorcircuitryandshouldonlybeactivated
underthefollowingcircumstancesasitwillerasethe
time and pre-set memories.
3. When attaching the front panel, make sure the
right side is correctly engaged before pressing the
left side to lock it into position.
4. When taking the front panel with you, please use
the supplied carrying case to protect the panel from
dirt and damage. Make sure there is no dust or dirt
ontheelectricalterminalsonthebackofthepanelas
this could cause intermittent operation or other
malfunctions.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The radio portion of your new sound system does not require any maintenance. We recommend you keep
thismanualforfuturereferenceonhowtosettheclockandforgeneralreferenceofthemanyfeaturesfound
in this unit.
As with any cassette player, the cassette section of this sound system does require a minimum of
maintenancetokeepitingoodworkingcondition. Thefollowingsimplecareandmaintenancesuggestions
should be followed to prevent malfunctions of the cassette system.
Cassette Care:
1. Purchase a cassette cleaning kit from your local retail store. Use it! At least every 20 to 30 hours
ofoperationyoumustcleanthecassettemechanism. Adirtycassetteplayerwillhaveapoorsound.
2. Do not use cassettes that exceed 45 minutes of play on each side.
3. Do not insert a cassette that appears to be broken, twisted or dirty or with loose or torn labels on it.
4. Always keep your cassettes away from direct sunlight or exposure
to sub-freezing conditions. If a cassette is cold, allow it to warm up
before use.
5. Do not keep a cassette in the player when not in use.
6. Beforeinsertingacassetteintheplayer,checkthatthetapeistightly
woundonthereels. Takeupanyexcessslackusingapenciltoturn
the drive hub in the cassette (see diagram).

Backward Track Select button ( ), the next lower
track number will be selected. Pressing and holding
either button will continue to change tracks in the
selected direction.
IMPORTANT:TheCDChangerSelectorSwitchonthe
bottom of the chassis must be set to the correct
position to match the type of changer being used with
this radio. The Re-Setbuttoncrshouldthenbepressed
toactivatethechangeofposition. Ifyouarenotsureof

FOWARD SEARCH (SEEK)
High-speed audible search to any forward section of
thedisccanbemadewiththisfeature. Pressandhold
NOTE: Switch position for model ACC-30 changer
is "B".

installed and connected to this radio. Refer to the
owner’s manual included with the CD changer for
instructions on the installation and correct loading
and use of the CD magazine.

WhentheScanbuttonispressed,the“SCAN”indication
will appear on the display panel, and the first 10
seconds of each track on the disc will be played in
order. When a desired track is reached, press the
Scan button again and play of the selected track will
continue (“SCAN” will disappear from the display
panel). The Track Scan mode will also be canceled
by activating any other disc function (Track Select,
RepeatorRandom).
During radio, or tape play, press this button to select
operationoftheCDchangerasshownby “CD-C”and
“CdC” on the display panel. Disc play will begin and
thediscandtracknumberwillbeshownonthedisplay
panel. If a new magazine has been loaded into the
changer, play will begin from the first track of the first
discinthemagazine. Ifamagazinewasalreadyinthe
changer, play will resume from the track on the disc
previously in play.
DuringCDchangerplay,pressingthisbuttononcewill
return to the radio operation. Pressing again will
change to tape play if a tape is loaded in the unit or
back to CD changer if no tape is loaded.

CD CHANGER ERROR CODE
If a problem should develop while operating the CD changer, the error code “Err” may appear on the display
panel. This can indicate a number of problems with the unit, including a mechanical error or an error in the
microprocessorcontrolofthechanger. Iftheerrorcodeshouldappear,tryejectingandre-loadingthemagazine
intothechanger. Whilethemagazineisoutofthechanger, makesurethediscsareclean, undamaged, and
loaded correctly (see Owner’s Manual of the CD changer). You may also try activating the Re-Set button
on the unit, but this will also erase the time and pre-set memories.

ThisWarrantydoesnotextendtotheeliminationofcarstaticormotornoise, tocorrectionofantenna
problems, to costs incurred for installation, removal, or reinstallation of the product, or damage to
tapes, compact discs, speakers, accessories, or vehicle electrical systems.
This Warranty does not apply to any product or part thereof which, in the opinion of the Company,
has suffered or been damaged through alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse,
neglect, accident, or by removal or defacement of the factory serial number/bar code label(s). THE
EXTENT OF THE COMPANY'S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE
REPAIRORREPLACEMENTPROVIDEDABOVEAND,INNOEVENT,SHALLTHECOMPANY'S
LIABILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY PURCHASER FOR THE PRODUCT.
This Warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties or liabilities. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE
DURATIONOFTHISWRITTENWARRANTY. ANYACTIONFORBREACHOFANYWARRANTY
